‘’Million Worth Community’’: Western NIS Enterprise Fund grants UAH 1 million to the Pechenizhyn Community
March 14, 2018“1 + 1” sets up the finale of the first Ukrainian business-social reality TV show “Million Worth Community”. At the show, 5 united territorial communities (UTC) contended for UAH 1 million grant from the Western NIS Enterprise Fund (WNISEF) by developing projects to improve life in the regions. Consequently, the Pechenizhyn UTC came out on top, having developed a raspberry shock-freezing project.

SERHII MORHUNOV WINS THE “INNOVATIVE MAYOR 2017” RATING
January 30, 2018The NGO-HUB hosts the “Innovative Mayor 2017” Award ceremony. The rating founders Jaroslawa Johnson, President and CEO of the Western NIS Enterprise Fund, and Iryna Ozymok, Founder of the International Mayors Summit, and the WNISEF’s Local Economic Development Program Manager handed the award to the Mayor Serhii Morhunov. They pointed out, that many innovative ideas in the city’s environment, economics, administrative services, energy efficiency, etc. were successfully implemented in Vinnytsia. All these projects make life of the citizens more comfortable.

January 29, 2018The Mayors of Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr, Chernivtsi, Dolyna, Trostianets and Glukhiv joined the special project “Undercover Mayor” and lived one day as ordinary citizens. Six city leaders dared to disguise and dive into the crowd to find out the people’s opinion regarding the mayor’s office work.

Teсhnovation Challenge, a global tech entrepreneurship competition for girls started its new season in Ukraine
November 03, 2017The Innovation Park Unit.City hosted the kick-off session of the tech entrepreneurship competition for schoolgirls and the discussion of technical opportunities for girls in Ukraine. Ukraine joined the program in 2017 and has already seen 15 teams of girls making mobile apps for solving issues in the Ukrainian cities. The project in Ukraine is supported by the Western NIS Enterprise Fund and Peace Corps.

Prince of the Netherlands will attend the International Mayors Summit in Kyiv
October 12, 2017On November 28-29, 2017 Kyiv will host the International Mayors Summit. This forum will be held for the second time, covering the innovations and their urban impact. More than 100 Ukrainian mayors, foreign experts and local government leaders from Canada, Israel, Slovakia, Brazil, Sweden, the UK and the Netherlands are expected to attend the Summit. The Netherlands will show a star turn of the event with StartupAmsterdam as its official partner (an organization that focuses on Amsterdam city development) and Prince Constantijn, the younger brother of the King of the Netherlands, as the honorary guest.

Schoolgirls from All Over Ukraine Presented in Lviv their Problem-Solving IT-Projects
July 29, 2017Twenty-five girls from all over Ukraine presented innovative IT-projects aimed at solving various urban problems. The presentation took place in Technovation Summer Camp, organized by Western NIS Enterprise Fund in cooperation with Peace Corps Ukraine in the course of the Technovation Ukraine project.
