Natalia Kovalenko joined WNISEF in August 2001 as the Accountant and has been promoted to the Deputy Chief Accountant and then to the Chief Accountant position. She has been a long-standing member of the Horizon Capital team for over 14 years and held senior positions within the finance area as the Chief Accountant and the Fund Controller of the Horizon Capital. Prior to joining WNISEF she held a position of the Chief Accountant of the Representative Office of the foreign company specializing in steel trading.

Over her 19-years career with the firm, Ms. Kovalenko has built expertise in financial reporting, tax planning, risk assessment and systems implementation. Her duties included financial reporting, tax returns preparations, audits of financial statements, budgets preparation of WNISEF and EEGF, and tax reporting for the Horizon Capital Advisors. She was also responsible for all compensation-related matters in the firm. As the Chief Accountant she was responsible for numerous tax audits conducted by the local tax authorities which were successfully passed. 

Natalia led the process of preparation of financial part of UNITY Proposal of WNISEF. This included detailed budget preparation of activities proposed, as well as new implementation office budget from the scratch. Additionally, this included submission of necessary financial information to USAID.

Natalia holds a Master’s in International Business Administration degree from Kyiv National Economic University (Ukraine).
